The toughest organism on earth

Back in 19th century, during an expedition in Nova Scotia, Canada, French explorers came across a natural icy cold salted lake; Bras d'Or Lake in Cape Breton Island. Its unusually high salt concentration made it virtually impossible for organic life form to survive. Nevertheless, these explorers discovered a peculiar type of red microorganism existing in such abrasive environment. Numerous researchers were carried out on these microorganisms and they discovered the existence of a natural antioxidant substance which could not be synthesized by human body. W.H.O. reported in the world Health Report 2006 tat Japanese have the longest life expectancy among 192 countries. Te average age for Japanese women and men were reported to be 86 and 79 years old respectively. The Japanese were honored as the nation with the longest lifespan in the world for 4 years consecutively. In collaboration with W.H.O., Professor Yukio Yamori from Kyoto university has personally visited 25 countries and 58 states with the longest and the shortest life span. His research shows that dietary, lifestyle and circulatory diseases are correlated with subjects' longevity.

Although there is no elixir for longevity, Professor Yamori discovered that the traditional Japanese diet plays an important role in extending Japanese's life expectancy and since then, the lifespan of Japanese has been increasing rapidly.

Research also showed that salmon contains natural astaxanthin with potent antioxidant level that has contributed o Japanese's extended lifespan. By taking advantage of their geographical benefits, the Japanese has been increasing rapidly.
